10/06/02: - The official Marco Beltrami website has been launched.
                   You can read a more in-depth bio of Beltrami and listen
                   to alot of great unreleased soundclips and more.
                   At first I was going to retire the site, but was asked
                   by Buck Sanders, Marco's assistant, to keep doing  the
                   good work on the site. So, I will be around for alittle bit
                   longer it looks like. =)

Marco recently was asked to provide orchestral arrangments
                    for the upcoming Guns N Roses album

             - Marco will be doing the score for Hellboy
               directed by Guillermo del Toro of Mimic and Blade II.
             - Marco is also scoring Treasure Island from director
                Steve Minor of Halloween: H20 and Lake Placid.

About Marco

Marco Beltrami was born the son of an Italian immigrant from the small town of Fornero, Italy. Although Marco was born and bred in Long Island New York, he went back to his roots to begin his pursuit of music composition, travelling to Venice for a period of study with the Italian master, Luigi Nono. Upon his return he entered the Yale School of Music on a scholarship.

In 1992, Marco moved to Los Angeles to undertake a fellowship with the Academy Award-winning composer, Jerry Goldsmith. While learning the technical aspects of film scoring, Marco also completed orchestral commissions for the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Sao Paulo State Orchestra and the Oakland East Bay Symphony. Marco Began his film scoring career with a Sony funded short film, The Bicyclist, Marco quickly thereafter landed Wes Cravenıs Scream. He then went on to write his critically acclaimed score for Guillermo Del Torroıs Mimic bringing him to the attention of the entire film music industry. Since then, Marcoıs talents have afforded him the opportunity to work without pause with some of todayıs most exciting filmmakers.

Marco has received awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the New York Foundation for the Arts, the ASCAP and BMI Foundations, the Harry Warren Fellowship Committee and Meet the Composer, Inc. to present his works in public. Most recently, Marco was nominated for an Emmy for his score for Harpo Film's David and Lisa.
